Strange Issue with # of Blocked IPs in PeerBlock

Title says it all.

I'm using the same ONE BLOCK LIST on my desktop as I do on my laptop. Both I've clicked update several times and they are both up-to-date. This is quite strange. They are both running the same version of PeerBlock, 1.0.

My desktop shows it is blocking 7xxxxxxxxxxxxxx IPs, and my laptop shows it is only blocking 2xxxxxxxx IPs. For months it worked fine and both computers showed the same number--after all--they are using the same list---my list. But today I made one tiny change to my merged list @ I-BLOCKLIST and my desktop showed the change correctly, and my laptop's PeerBlock started acting weird and showing a way too small number....billions too small!

I've restared, shut down, reset network, etc. Can't figure it out.

sounds like it just failed to update properly for some reason.

shutdown the PeerBlock that is having issues and delete every file named a string of numbers in the lists folder.
then start PB and see if it update properly.

Actually both computers show the same number now. The next day when my desktop updated my (merged) block list again, it sync'd up with the laptop.

The problem is still questionable though. The only change I made was removing the list "ipfilterx" which blocked Anti-P2P stuff.

It's hard to tell by looking at the #'s. Could that make it go from like 7xxxxxxxxxxxxx to 2xxxxxxxxxxxxx?

I've triple checked my STV's Block List and made sure that it has blocked what I want to. I'm not seeing how the slight change I made of disabling the ipfliterx list would cause such a drastic change.

Is there any way you could check the merged list to see if it's functioning OK?

I did some troubleshooting.

The strange thing is, I disabled (unchecked) all the lists I had blocked in my STV's Block List (merged list) on this site. I then closed and completely disabled PeerBlock, and re-opened it and it didn't need an update. I waited five minutes. Still, it never processed the change in my list.

Is there meant to be a certain delay?

"disabling the ipfliterx list" had nothing to do with it.
PB simply failed to update properly.
It is impossible to know why at this point.

You don't seem to be having any problems now so what is there to test...

PG2 and PB will allow you to update a maximum of one time every 24 hours.

Peerblock continues to show me 2,693,885 IPs are being blocked from only my STV's Block List being enabled through several updates since the day this "issue" began.

My biggest concern is PeerBlock for some reason not blocking all the IPs that it should. I don't want to lose protection and not know it.

Here's the lists I've merged in STV's Block List:

Bluetack -

~ Ads
~ Spyware
~ Badpeers
~ Hijacked
~ Dshield

TBG -

~ Hijacked

Spamhaus -

~ DROP

DCHubAD -

~ Pedophiles
~ Spammer
~ Hacker
~ Faker

My remaining question/concern is obvious:

Does the number PeerBlock is showing it's currently blocking correspond with the approximate (not exact because I use an allow list for certain SAFE online services)total number of IPs those lists should contain?

Sorry I don't mean to be a piece of work, I'm just concerned.

The number of IPs PeerBlock shows is the exact number of IPs that PB would block after PB merges, optimizes, and removes IPs you want allowed.

I still fail to see a problem.
PB will only allow you to update one time every 24 hours even if you change your list here.
